FAll Decor

30 Sep

As FAll has arrived although it doesn’t feel like it here quit yet. Being able to decorate and make it feel more like it inside is a good feeling. Most of the items are from Hobby Lobby. the pumpkins on the mantel are from Walmart which I took two stems off the tops and glued them together in stacks. The Burlap pumpkins had sticks on the bottom and I pulled them off as well so that I would be able to place them on a flat surface i.e our bar. I hope this gives you some inspiration to decorate and that you don’t have to spend allot. Everything purchased cost me under $50 total.

Bathroom makeover

24 Jun

I want to apologize for being MIA last week with posts. I have been working diligently on our upstairs bathroom makeover. I finally finished last night and I want to show you all what I did. This post is probably going to be picture heavy so I apologize.

This is the before: Plaid wallpaper?!?!

After almost 4 days of removing the wallpaper which in some spots it didn’t want to come off, finally it was all gone well almost. Behind the mirror was some extremely old wallpaper and well it wasn’t coming off so I just left it. no one was going to see it anyways once the mirror was back up. I used DIF gel wallpaper remover the kind in the spay bottle. it says let sit 20-30 minutes which is too long after that long of time it starts to dry. I waited about 5-6 min as its easier to remove when wet. I know some people say use windex the one with ammonia, but I didn’t remember to try that till I was almost done.

Now I was ready to paint. this took about 3 hours. I had to use two coats, one was fine but was too bright, the second coat darkened it up and was the perfect shade. I used Behr Sea Foam Spray (Home Depot)

These photos above (I made) I put on the middle of the mirror. I wanted to have them on the counter top but i didn’t like how it looked. So I decided to attach them to the mirror using Command Picture frame damage free hanging stripes.

DIY Belt Rack

16 Jun

This is my first DIY. I am so excited about this. I have ben looking for a belt rack for so long then i found some wood scrapes in our garage from when we had to get wood cut for new slats under out bed. I hope you all enjoy this as much as I did making it. I am so proud of it.

1: You will need piece of wood cut to your size(Can be done at Home Depot or Lowes), one inch nail, staple gun, and material of your choice, oh and a hammer

2: Place wood on the material(IMG 1)

3: fold the material over the wood and Staple fold end like you do when wrapping presents but instead of stapling to the end fold it over to the same side as the already stapled material and staple. (IMG 2-6)

4: Repeat on other side and end. If you were like me I had allot of material so I puled the material over and then cut a little on the end so I would know were to cut excess material off before stapling it down.

5. Hang on your wall. and Hang those gorgeous belts on it.
